Fall Time

I found these styrofoam pumpkins at the local dollar store the other day.  I thought they would make cute decorations for my house.

While the girls were in school this week, I decided to decorate them.  I used fall picks in one and a flameless LED candle in another.

I am happy with the first one, with the picks, but not so happy with the Fall one.  It didn't quite work out the way I had hoped.  I still have one pumpkin left and I'm not quite sure what to do with it.

Have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Butterfly Notebook

While it has been raining for days here in PA, I had nothing better to do and got tired of reading.  So, I took a break and made this notebook.  I used my bind it all machine.  The butterfly is an acetate embellishment added onto a piece of acrylic that has been stamped with alcohol inks.  I used designer papers and pearls.

Canvas Wall Hangings

I made canvas wall hangings after watching a Tim Holtz video.  I didn't have the right kind of canvas, so I did them my own way.  I used beewax, tissue paper napkins and embellishments.  Hope you like them!

Cards

I haven't been crafting a lot in the past few months.  I had a lot going on, plus I took some well deserved and needed family time.  Also recently I started doing book reviews.  If you are into reading, my new blog is http://tammysbookreviews.blogspot.com

I made a few cards.  One is stitched and the rest are made using alcohol inks on acetate and attached to cards.  I hope you enjoy them.

Two decorated tablets

I made two tablets using bind it all cover alls.  I was looking for an excuse to use my bind it all.  Hope you enjoy them.

Alcohol inks

Boy it's been awhile since I posted and crafted.  I am really getting into the Tim Holtz stuff right now.  Now I just have to tell myself to be patient and wait for it all to arrive!

While I wait for all that stuff, I am having fun with alcohol inks.  Here are a few suncatchers I made and a candle plate.  A Jar that Kayla made using Tim's stuff too.

Also I bought the bind it all and have made two post it note holders.  Here they are...

You can't really tell but I used Tim's distress ink pads around edges and on the letters.

Hope you all like them.

A Thanksgiving Gift and A Christmas Gift

It's been a while since I posted a project.  I'm sorry for that but I have been busy with family issues.

Thanksgiving is only a few days away.  What do you all do for Thanksgiving?  My family goes to my Aunt's every year.  My Mom, Dad, Brother, Grandmother, my girls, hubby and myself.  Plus my Aunt and Uncle makes for a nice day.  My Aunt and Uncle do all the cooking.  My Mom usually brings cookies or something and my Aunt gets a cake.  We eat dinner early and then spend the day just talking and hanging out.

My Dad loves blueberry pie, so one year my Aunt decided to make one instead of buying it.  Well let me tell you, she hasn't made one since! The year she made it, my kids were playing and decided to take the pie from the table when no one was looking and hid it in a closet!  When we realized it was missing, we found it with a footprint in it!  It has been covered, but somehow the littlest one (which was only 2 or 3 at the time) had stepped in it!  My Aunt didn't think it was very funny, but the rest of us did!  Still to this day, we can't go a Thanksgiving Day without mentioning it!  My mom even took pictures and made my Aunt a scrapbook page of that day!

Ok so on to my project.  Last year we couldn't be with my family for the holiday due to hubby having surgery two months prior.  My Aunt lives on a very bumpy road.  I felt bad about not going and decided that this year I wanted to do something special for her.

I made her a gift set to "thank" her for the tradition.  My daughter and I worked on them together.  We've been watching Christmas movies and crafting at night.

Kayla made her a jar we will fill with potpourri and a writing tablet.  I made her a pail and a notebook for her purse.  She loves purple(which is my favorite color) and polar bears.  I bought two small candles to put in the pail.  The problem is that I love the way the pail turned out and now I want to keep it!

We used Kayla's Yin & Yang stamp.  I just love this stamp and seem to use it a lot.

I also made my Aunt a recipe holder.  Her kitchen is black & white, so no purple on this one.  I did use the polar bears though.

I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving!  I am off to work on Christmas presents now.  Lots to do, lots to do!

Bath Jelly Gift Set

I have been wanting to get into creating different things.  So, I did some searching online.  I found a recipe for bath jelly that you can make at home.  I don't know about you, but I love a hot bath on a cold night.  Sometimes I'll soak in there and read a book!

You can get the recipe to make your own HERE. Believe it or not, it was really easy to do.  I decided to make it for a friend, who is a mother of an 8 month old.....lol.........need I say more!

I used a baby food jar to put the jelly in.  I wrapped a paper around it and colored an image from Stitchy that you can get HERE.  It's called Rub A Dub Dub.  I used the same image and paper on the lil gift bag.

It's nothing very fancy, but it was my first time.  I am hoping to do a better job next time.  (and yes there will be a next time)

Anything Goes Celebration

Over at OSAAT there is a new challenge.  It's an anything goes celebration.  That means you get to choose what celebration your creation is for.  I chose Christmas..........what did you chose??????

Meet Candy!  She is a new image by Stitchy Stamps and she can be purchased HERE.

I hand stitched a wreath on my card, cut out the center and hung a bell.  Candy is colored with color pencils and OMS.  She is hanging off the card a bit.  I used a glitter writer on the white parts of her hat.  I also used it on the top of the socks and bottom of the outfit.  It's kind of hard to see.

Hope you like it and thanks for stopping by.

A Binder

I am all into the gift making at the moment.  This is a binder I made for a friend.  I covered the binder in paper, colored the Hands of Time image from Stitchy Stamps with my color pencils and my OMS, added a yarn and my embellishments.  I thought the image was just right for the binder, as the binder has paper in it to keep track of things.

Notebook and Tote

I have begun to think of  handmade birthday presents, Christmas gifts and just plain everyday gifts too.  I am having fun altering things right  now, so here is my first gift set.  It's a small purse size notebook and a matching tote.  I made the notebook very simple since it is for a purse.  In the tote i put a set of pink candle holders, a set of pink votive candles and 2 extra candles.  I also put the notebook in there after the picture was taken.  All in all I really enjoyed making this and decided to give it to a friend of mine.  After all everyone deserves presents for no reason every now and then!

Halloween Pail

A great friend of mine sent me a bunch of stuff to decorate.  I had fun doing up this little pail.  It's a little gift for someone.  I wrapped ribbon around the handle and made bows on each side.

New Kids Challenge Blog Coming Soon

Coming soon will be a new kids challenge blog.  You can find it HERE.  The first challenge is scheduled to go live on November 1, 2010.  The challenges will run for a whole month, giving the kids plenty of time to get projects in.  There will be no limit as to what they create, as long as they use the specified theme.  They aren't limited to just cards.  How cool is that.  If you have a child that loves to create, hope on over and become a follower, so you can always get to the site.

Crop Night Fun

Last night at the I did It Creations Forum we had some fun!  Robyn, Jennifer and I did a little chatting and a little crafting.  Robyn gave us two projects to do.  I really enjoyed doing them.  It was nice to craft and chat after a very long week of sick kids and not feeling well myself.  Next time we have a crop, you should come join us!

The first project we did was a box.  The box will hold 3x3 inch notecards.  I haven't made them yet, and I'm not sure i will.  I happen to think the box is perfect for storing some small supplies in.

Caramel Apple Anyone???

Hope everyone had a lovely week.  I know I didn't!  I had a sick kid home for 4 days and then find out as she goes back to school that she had strep.  Then Kayla couldn't move leg! So I paid the doctor two visits in two days!

Anyway, today between helping with make up homework and watching my friends little boy (which Kayla did mostly, as she needs the practice for parenting class) I decided I wanted to work on something.  I found in my files, directions to make a caramel apple card.  I thought "oh this is perfect, since I have some Fall cards to make for my swapping groups.  Kayla sat down and made one with me.

The green paper is only to show the caramel apple shape better.

I'd like to enter mine (top two views) in the following challenges....
